Schooling Life: Casual Work Flow

Good Morning Lovelies!! This week has truly flown by. It’s already Thursday. One day closer to the weekend! So for the past two weeks the staff at my job was notified that we were able to dress down for the remainder of the year. I was elated!! Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy dressing up but having to wake up at 6 a.m. each morning and having to get dressed up takes a toll on me. With that being said I’ve been wearing sundresses, jeans, etc.

Since I didn’t want to wear jeans I decided to wear my cute Bar III pants that I purchased over the Christmas Holiday. I absolutely adore the Bar III clothing line. The pricing of the items are average but Macy’s always has a sale so 75% of the time I’m able to find some cute things at a discounted price. The top I wore with the pants is super old. I’ve had this top for about 4 years and it is still in great condition.

Top: Bebe (old)/Pants:Bar III via Macys/Sandals:Target $14.99 (Purchase here)/Sunnies:Target/Scarf and Bracelet:Gift/Earrings:H&M/Necklace:Thierry-Accessories

I love these sandals. They are so comfortable and I can easily pair these shoes with any type of outfit which is a plus. Target is always known for having the cutest sandals so head on over if you haven’t and check out their spring/summer collections.

Have a terrific Thursday and thanks for stopping by.

Schooling Life: Nude Love

Good Morning Lovelies!! I’ve been M.I.A for about a week but I’ve so busy. As many of you know, I was a co-host for C.Michelle’s  Beauty and Fashion Blogger Meet and Greet this past Thursday night at Soyka Restaurant. I should be sharing with you all the pictures from the event in a few days so stay tuned for that. I’ve also been working on another event that I will be co-hosting with the lovely Shea of Curves and Confidence which will take place May 5th. I will share more information with you all in another post as well.

Anywho, really quickly I just wanted to share with you all what I wore yesterday to work. I saw Think Like a Man this past weekend and it was extremely funny and sweet. My favorite actress in the movie was of course Taraji P. Henson. She is one of my favorite actresses and she really puts her all in every role that she has ever been given. I absolutely loved her style and hair in the movie. Her look was classic and chic. She inspired me to get up yesterday morning and dress up a little differently than the norm.

So I won a Target gift card from Whitney of Nics-picks blog a few weeks ago and I also had another gift card from Target so I headed on over and picked up some goodies. I’ve been searching for a pair of nude pumps that weren’t that high so that I would be able to wear them to work. So I couldn’t leave the store with out bringing these home with me. I lasted the whole day in them and received a few compliments on them. Thanks Whitney!

Top: H&M, Skirt: NY &Co.,Heels: Target, Belt: XXI, Earrings: Kreativ Kreations, Necklace: Gift

Thanks for stopping by ✌.

Schooling Life: OOTD + Winner of my FINAL giveaway!

Rose Top:NY&Co./Slacks: Zara ($9.99)/Shoes:ALDO (thrifted)/Earrings:Forever 21

Good Afternoon lovelies!! I hope everyone’s week is going smooth. Mine is going wonderful. I’m getting a lot of things accomplished and looking forward to the future. So I love Laura’s blog A little bit of Lacquer and each Wednesday she likes for bloggers to submit there work outfits and she will post them on her blog. I missed out last week so I definitely wanted to participate today. Head on over to participate in the fun!

I paid a visit to Zara last week because I heard they were having an amazing sale. I picked up the pair of pants that I am wearing in the photo above as well as a cute dressy top that I plan to wear in the near future. I was so excited that my pants were only $9.99 compared to $59.99. Great quality pants at an unbeatable price. I was so excited to wear them today and I received a couple of compliments on them.

Oh and I tried something new with my hair today! I am trying to not put so much heat on my hair so to eliminate all of the heat I am trying to pin curl my hair each night. The first day I did it my hair looked horrible but today it turned out pretty good. Practice makes perfect!

I’ve had this button down rose top for a while but I hardly ever wear it because I have to always take it to get dry cleaned. But I thought that it would flow nicely with my new Zara slacks. It also kept me warm at work today because I am ALWAYS cold lol. My earrings are extremely old. I think I purchased them from Forever 21 about 4 years ago and I am glad that I never departed with them.

This past Saturday I turned in clothes to Plato’s Closet to get cash back for items that have been taking up space in my closet. For those of you who aren’t aware of Plato’s Closet it is sort of like a thrift store except when you turn items that are gently used you get cash back for them. Well, as I was waiting on the lovely ladies who work there to see which clothing they planned on keeping I perused the store to see if I saw anything that caught my eye. I spotted these snake skin Aldo open toe flats and I knew that had to have them. They were only $12 and I can tell that the original owner didn’t even wear them because there wasn’t any scratches on the bottom. I will be wearing these to work very often.

Congrats Adam on winning the Nordstrom gift Card and India on winning the Zara gift card! I will email you two shortly with details. A special thank you to everyone who entered my giveaways for the month of February! I truly appreciate it and all of the support you show me.

Schooling Life: Pasta for Pennies

Shirt:NY&Co.,Dress worn as a skirt:Gap,Boots:Purchased at DSW,Scarf:Gift,Belt:No name,Bracelets:Gifts,Earrings:H&M,Ring:XX1

Good Morning Lovelies!! Happy Valentine’s Day!! Yesterday was such a cold day for South Floridians! We brought out the boots, scarves, gloves, etc. I personally love wearing boots when I get the opportunity. I had this top for a while now (gifted from my sissy) and I love it. It is from New York and Company and it fits me very well. I am wearing a dress as a skirt. When I purchased the dress from the Gap a couple of years ago it fit me well but since I’ve have gained a little weight in the last couple of years the top doesn’t fit me as well as it used to so I chose to wear it as a skirt. Its works lol

Here is my favorite scarf!! I love it. I can wear it with basically anything!

So I titled this post Pasta for Pennies because for the past couple of months at school each class has been raising money to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to find cures for those who have been diagnosed with blood cancers. Several schools around the country are participating and they have raised thousands and thousands of dollars in the past couple of years. Many of the students have sacrificed buying snacks and other nic nacks to help make a difference in someone’s life. The class that raises the most money will receive a pasta party from Olive Garden. Well guess which class won????? ::Drum Roll:: MINE!!!! Woot Woot. My class did a great job bringing in so much money to support such a great cause and since we raised so much money we will receive a nice treat! It is nice to give back to those who aren’t as fortunate as we are and I plan to do more than I already do.

I hope you all have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by! Oh and also make sure to check out the fabulous giveaway I have going on right now—->To enter to win your very own Easy Canvas, click here.

Good Morning lovelies!! Yay! It’s Friday. We Made it!! As you can see I am very excited that it is Friday and that I get 2 days off from work. So yesterday I snapped a couple of pictures of what I wore to work. I am sooooooooo in love with this kimono sleeve cardigan (27.99), that I purchased from Forever 21 a few weeks ago. My favorite color is green so that is one of the reasons why I love it. It is very comfortable and chic. I have worn it about 5 times already lol.

I have recently found different photo programs that allow me to do so much with my pictures and I have been dying try out the Cross Process feature because it looks so cool. I am a fan of trying new things and I was pleased with the result. If you are interested in enhancing your photos check out Picnik or Picasa! I love them both and the best part is that they are both FREE!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Schooling Life: Maxi in November

Outfit Deets—> Dress:XX21//Denim Jacket: Wet Seal (OLD)//Tank: XX21//Sandals: (not shown) Target//Necklace: Chicos//Earrings:given to me from my sister//Ring:XX21

Good Afternoon!!! This post will be very brief. I just wanted to share with you all what I wore to work today. Can you believe I am still able to wear a maxi dress and short sleeves in November?? I definitely live in Florida lol. I’ve had this maxi dress for a while now but never took any pictures in it. Since my hair was done and the weather was nice outside I decided to snap a couple of pictures.

Today was a pretty cool day at work. The kids have basically been learning about Thanksgiving and doing activities that pertain to this special holiday. I am so glad that tomorrow is the last work day for the week and its early release day. I am ecstatic lol!! Does anyone have any special plans for Thanksgiving or traveling for the holiday? If so, please do share. Have a wonderful evening and thanks for stopping by ✌.

Schooling Life: A New found love for Leaves

Hellllooo My Lovelies!!!! Well its Monday…Yea I know lol. I wish it was Friday! I hope your day went well. My day was pretty good. It turned a little sour when I started sneezing 80 times because my room is EXTREMELY COLD. It feels like Alaska! I’ve never been there before but I’m sure that it feels like my room lol. I didn’t have any of my allergy medicine so I just had to deal with it SMH! Tomorrow I will be prepared!!

I was very proud of myself because I picked out my outfit last night and I usually pick out my outfit when I get up each morning which leaves me running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Clothes end up everywhere. I really wanted to wear this skirt so I tried my hardest to put together an outfit so I could wear it to work. I bought this skirt at Plato’s Closet a few weeks ago. I had a ton of shoes that I FINALLY decided to part with because they were too tight and I knew I would never wear them again. While I was waiting to see what items they would take I browsed the store to see if I could find any neat items for great prices. I walked aways with this skirt for $8. I love it. The colors are pretty and I can wear it all year long.

Ok If you are wondering why I have a band-aid on my left knee it is because I fell on Saturday coming out of Subway 😦 It was raining very hard and I had things to do so I decided to run. That was NOT a good decision. I ended up falling very hard and my left knew was bleeding badly. Luckily only a few people saw me since I was a good amount of feet from the restaurant. I’m ok now but I WILL not be running in the rain. I don’t care if I am running late.

Cardigan:NYC&Co.//Tank:XX21//Skirt:No label//Flats:Audrey Brooke//Necklace & Bracelet:Gifts//Earrings:ALDO//Rings:HS Class ring & Accessory store//Belt:Bahamas//Purse:Free w/ Purchase of Shoes

This purse that I am carrying is pretty old. I have had it for about 4 to 5 years. I was carrying my work stuff and other personal items in a USF carry bag but I decided that I could fit way more items into this bag so I switched bags. I love this bag for the fall and it is great for traveling. My MAC computer, blanket, magazines, wallet, etc. fit very comfortably in this bag. I’ll part with it one day when I find something better. Until then my DSW free bag is staying 🙂

Since I have started wearing this necklace I am in love with leaves. I found earrings to match it and now I’m set! I will be wearing this earring and necklace set for a while. I plan on going accessory shopping Friday and I can’t wait to get more earrings. I have a massive amount of necklaces but about 10 good pair of earrings. I’ll most likely do an accessory haul next week so you all can see what I picked up!

My kids were very good today. I had only a few problems with some of them. It is the 4th week of school so the majority of the students have caught on to the rules and regulations which is awesome. Tomorrow is Dress Down Tuesday and I’m excited because my clothing can be a little more relaxed. I have not a clue what I’m going to wear but since my room is FREEZING whatever I decide to wear it will include a JACKET!

Well folks, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful evening.

P.S. This is my 100th Post!!! Woot Woot 🙂

Schooling Life

Good Evening my Lovely Readers!!!! I hope you all had a great Tuesday! Wasn’t it GREAT having Monday off? I loved it. This past Sunday I went to Gainesville with my family to visit my younger sister who attends the University of Florida and is studying to be an eye doctor…Yea she’s a GENIUS! lol I also have a lot of family that lives in Gainesville and Ocala so we all hung out while I was there. On Monday, my sister and I headed to Orlando to go shopping at the Outlets. I didn’t go crazy but I purchased some cute items at great prices!! I’ll share soon 🙂

Dress:XX21/Cardigan:H&M/Flats:Chinese Laundry (44.95)/Belt:Random/Earrings:Love Culture/Ring and Sunnies:XX21

Even though I was exhausted I STILL wanted to wear my new Chinese Laundry Flats that I purchased at DSW on Friday. As a teacher you know we are always on our feet so flats are our BEST Friends!! These flats are so versatile and can be worn with practically anything. The colors are pretty much a gold/beige color so they may become my new favorite flats lol.

In my last post I wrote about starting a new category that focuses on me and what goes on at school/work. I decided to name the catetory Schooling Life. This is the title of a song that Beyonce has on her Deluxe album. I will talk about my day at work and also show you all some parts of my room. Well below it my Classroom Library. My theme in my classroom is Movies/Hollywood. So Everything in my classroom is related to my theme. In the reading area it says, “Lights! CAMERA! Read!” What do you all think of the title of my Classroom Library?

Well lovelies! I am headed to the gym so I will catch up with you later. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful evening. Tomorrow is Wednesday which is another day closer to Friday!! Woot Woot lol.
