Good evening my wonderful readers!! I hope you all had a wonderful Tuesday. Well as you can see this post is completely different than any others lol. This week is spirit week for the school where I teach and each day the students are asked to wear certain items. Today was Mix and Match day. Can you guess who was best dressed? ME! I did better than the students! It took me a total of 10 minutes to get dressed. I basically just threw on all of these clothes. I felt very silly but I remember when I was in grade school I never really participated in mix and match day so I decided to join in with the kids. Oh they loved it! Its fun to just step out of your comfort zone and do something that you doubt you would ever do.

Yes I do wear sneakers. I own a couple of pair. I rarely wear sneakers though unless I am working out or I will wear my red converse. My mother wore these shorts back in the 80’s and she gave them to me a while back and I think that I could actually make them look cute but today they were going to look a mess along with my other items that I threw together.

*This Wednesday 20, 2011 I advise you to hurry into your nearest Kohls department store. They are having a ONE DALE SALE  from 8am-11pm. A great amount of store items will be 50% off! I will definitely be there!! Hopefully I can get some cute stuff :).

Well I hope you all enjoyed my post and I gave you a good laugh. Its fun to do crazy things sometimes. Life is way too short to be serious all the time. Have a great night and thanks for reading ✌.

2 for 1: OOTD + My feature on Fashiondevotee.com

Dress:Old Navy/Jacket:Wet Seal/Shoes:Nine West-Necklace/Earring set:Century 21(nyc)/Ring:Random/Sunnies:XX21

Good afternoon my lovely readers!! How was your day? My day went pretty well. I smiled and laughed with my students as well as with my co-workers (who are actually my good friends) today! On Monday I sounded sad, miserable and lost and I feel so much better! I would like to say thank you to everyone who shared their kind words with me because they truly helped :).

So I decided to wear heels today! lol. I try and wear heels a couple of times each month to break away from the monotony of my regular work day outfits. These heels aren’t that high which means that I am can sustain standing in them all day! I’ve had these Nine West heels for about a year now and they are super comfortable! I love that they tie in the back which makes them extra cute.

I’ve had this jean jacket for like 5 years I think lol. Yep it still fits my itty bitty arms SMH! In college I worked at Wet Seal and I purchased this jacket there and it is still in good shape. Jean jackets go in and out of style and right now they are one of the spring trends! I am not the trendiest person but I do like to try out some of the newest trends that are out.

When I saw the necklace/earring set in NYC I just knew I had to have it. I was very excited about it and new I could pair it with a lot of the clothing that I have in my closet! Today was my first day wearing the set and the necklace was kind of heavy but I will make it work lol.

Today I was featured on Fashiondevotee.com!! To read the post click on the picture below ↓.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful night. I know I will. I am going to relax and watch the Heat play their last regular season game against the Toronto Raptors. #LetsgoHeat!!

Time waits for no one

Good evening my wonderful readers!! I hope you all had a great day. My day was ok. I woke up in such an awful mood and everyone knew because of my facial expression. Does anyone ever have those days where they just feel sad and wish things in there lives could be different? Well, I’ve been having those days for months now. Don’t get me wrong, some days are better than others but the reality of it, is that I don’t think that I will be ultimately happy until my goals are met! But later today I realized that Everything will work out. I then put a smile on my face and kept it moving. Time waits for no one!

I love the people in my life and I thank God for them each day because they keep my spirits up. Starting this blog has brought me so much joy. I’ve been able to do things that I never thought that I would do, meet new people, and I am able to express myself not just through social networks.

Remember I received my ELF products in the mail yesterday…Well, I tried it out today and I loved it. It took me about 3 minutes to do my eye make up and about 7 to 8 minutes to put on my face primer, concealer, and foundation. I think I can actually spend 10 minutes doing my make up each morning. It also helped that I knew what I wanted to wear already. Now if I don’t know what I am wearing then that is another story. I wanted to be casual today and not wear dress shoes to work. Today was definitely a casual day…Can’t you tell? lol

Today was not such a good day and I hope and pray that tomorrow will run a lot more smoothly! Anyways, tonight The Heat play the Atlanta Hawks. I hope we win. We are almost done with the regular season and this Saturday we will head to the Playoffs! Woot! Woot! #LetsgoHeat! Enjoy your Monday night and thanks for reading ✌.

Don’t laugh

Shirt and Shorts-XX21/Wedges:Aldo/Camisole:Random/Bracelet:Miami accessory store/Earrings:Miami accessory store/Ring:XX21/Shades:XX21

I would like to apologize for the lack of posting that I have done this past week. I was sick last weekend and I was trying my hardest to get over that cold. My energy was extremely low which meant I had no desire to post :(. Hopefully this week will run more smoothly and I will be back to posting each day again.

Anyways, my cousin had a birthday party last weekend. He turned 1 years old and it was held at a park. I wore the outfit above↑ to the birthday party!

I’ve had that polka dot striped shirt for a while and never wore it so I was uber excited to wear it last weekend with some shorts and wedges. Since I haven’t really been taking pictures of what I’ve been wearing I decided to show you the items that I received from E.L.F and some cute tops that I bought in NYC/MIA. Enjoy.

Professional Travel Brush Kit/Everyday Eye Edition/Eyeshadow "C" Brush/Brightening Eye color shadow/Red Velvet Nail Polish/Chestnut Matte Eyeshadow

So please don’t laugh at me when I tell you all this but I had no clue about Eyes Lips Face. I always bought my make-up out of Sephora or at a drug store. Every time I have went to Target I never saw the E.L.F area so I had no clue this place existed. I just so happened came across the website last week and when I told one of my friends at work about it she was like “Yea girl, I use a lot of ELF’s makeup” lol. I just couldn’t believe that I have went this long without knowing about the makeup sold at target. I bought this particular eyeshadow pallet because it is for everyday wear. I don’t wear makeup to work but I want to start wearing a little of it but I want it to look natural. Since this pallet was at a good price and had step by step instructions, why not purchase it? I plan to try it out this week. Wish me luck!

I love this top! Purchased at H&M

Well folks, that is about it for me. My allergies are messing with me which has caused my lip to swell up a little bit. I had my heart set on going to church this morning but I don’t feel comfortable going in public until my lips goes down.

Oh and by the way I found my birthday dress yesterday!! Now all I need to do is find some cute heels to go with it as well as a birthday dinner outfit. I turn 25 two weeks from tomorrow and I am so ready for my car insurance to go down and look for health insurance quotes which will grow. ! lol. Thanks for reading and have a blessed Sunday!

Curly Sue

Hello my wonderful readers!!! I hope you all had a wonderful day. My day was pretty interesting I must say. As a teacher every day brings something new. We are almost done with the school year and I am getting a little sad because I love my students and I’m going to really miss them. We’ve had our ups and downs but I still adore my students. #Thedayinthelifeofateacher

I am currently watching the Heat vs. Cavs game and I am so upset right now. WHY are the Heat losing? We’ve beat this team like 3 times already. Get it together heat! Anyways, you all may have noticed that I curled my hair! I am trying not to put that much heat on my hair so I thought I’d leave it curly for a while. It is so easy and fun. I don’t have to comb it and check to make sure my hair is still curled. I’m loving this hairstyle right now.

I’ve had this skirt for a couple of months now. I bought it around Christmas time and I decided to wait until I could wear it with a colorful top like the one that I am wearing in the picture. I almost thought that I’d have to wear this outfit on another day because I wasn’t able to find the shirt this morning at first. I searched my closet and finally found it on the ground. It must have fell off the hanger. I’m just glad I found it!!!

I love draped wrap skirts! I think they are so cute and fun. I love wearing nice pencil or A line skirt but it’s always good to switch things up. That is one of the reasons why I bought the skirt.

Well, I am going to finish watching the Heat vs. Cavs game! I hope you all have wonderful night and don’t forget to watch The Game on BET @10pm tonight! It’s the season Finale and it should be juicy. Thanks for reading. Good night!

Hello my lovely readers!! As we all know Spring is FINALLY here! Well….the weather has changed for the majority of southern states but NOT for the Northern States. My sister lives in DC and she told me yesterday that it is still cold and I was just in NYC last weekend and it was freezing there as well.

Well today I went out for lunch and decided to wear some items out of my closet that I haven’t gotten a chance to wear yet. When I put this outfit together I knew that I wanted to incorporate some color into my outfit so that it wouldn’t look too dull. So I paired the skirt and shirt with these cute yellow flower thong sandals. They are super comfortable and I really like the color.

Anyways, my pictures didn’t turn out the best because I wasn’t wearing sunglasses and it was very sunny outside…Which means that my eyes look really CHINKY! My date was taking the pictures for me and he did a good job taking pictures of me and also when I was distracted. That is why I gave this post that name. Well turns out the distracted looks looked better than me actually looking at the camera. I hope you all will still enjoy this post and also my OOTD!

Shirt:Romeo and Juliet Couture/Skirt:H&M/Belt:Random/Shoes:Nine West/Bracelet:Sun Metal Jewelry/Necklace:Gift from one of my students/Earrings:H&M/Rings:Random accessory stores

My day went really well. The food was good as well as the conversation. The weather was also great as well today. Hot and Sunny! In a few weeks I want to head to the beach!! That is next on my agenda. Let’s take a look at the details of my outfit ↓.

I love this shirt. I purchased it while I was on Spring break in DC at a store called Filene’s Basement! The store sells designer clothing at discounted prices. I purchased this Romeo and Juliet Couture shirt at the price of $6.99!! Can you believe it? It was originally a $40 shirt. I was too excited!!

I’ve had this zig zag H & M skirt for a couple of months now. I bought it when I was in DC last October. I do plan on wearing this skirt with other tops that I have in my closet. It can be dressed up or down which is pretty neat.

I stated earlier in my post that Spring is here and in full affect down here in the south. My good friend Nykenya put together some really cute Spring looks! These outfits can be worn to work, on a lunch date, to an outside concert, bar-b-que, etc. Enjoy.

I hope you all enjoyed your Friday. I know I sure did. I took yesterday and today off from work and it was so nice having those two days off! Thanks for reading and good night ✌

MAXI Dresses under $50!!!

Dress:Sirus (On Sale for $10)//Cardigan:H&M//Belt:Random//Shoes:(Not shown) bought from Target//Neclace:Taken off from some old Jean shorts//Bracelets: Kohls//Earrings:Miami accessory store//Yellow clutch:XX21//Sunnies:XX21

Last Monday, a few of my girlfriends and I went on a boat ride around the Miami Beach area. It was very nice and relaxing. I think I mentioned to you all that morning before I left my house that we were all on Spring Break so we decided to do something fun. We were able to see the different celebrities homes such as Ricky Martin, Shakira, Diddy, Gloria Estefan, and many others. If you are ever in the Miami area I would definitely suggest that you partake in one of the boat rides that the city has to offer.

This past weekend while I was out of town I received a message from a young lady asking me where did I buy the maxi dress that I wore on the boat ride (She saw the picture on FB). I told her that I bought it at a store in the Sawgrass Mills mall called Sirus last summer. Spring is here and to help you all out I have put together a set of Maxi dresses that you may be interested in purchasing or you may just want to get some ideas. As you all know I am big on bargains so I love finding items on sale! Good luck and I hope you find this information helpful.

Central Park

Good Morning to all! I just wanted to show you what I’ve been up to since I’ve been in NYC! I arrived this past Thursday night and I have seen so much already! lol. I’m uploading the pictures to my facebook account so if you would like to see more don’t hesitate to look. The album is called “Spring Break Fun 2011“. It’s crazy because the majority of my clothes that I packed were all warm clothes but yesterday it was HOT. Today is supposed to be cold and I am not looking forward to it but I don’t want to stay in the house so I will definitely have on more clothes today.

Yesterday, I went to the American Museum of Natural History with my sister. It was very fun experience and I really enjoyed it. We spent 2 hours looking at exhibits in the museum. To be honest though, that museum is ridicously huge so a person could roughly spend 4 + hours in there. We wanted to do other things so we left after 2 hours. Below are some pictures I took in the museum.

Sis looking at facts about a certain rock

About to go look at Dinosaurs

This pose is SO out of my character!

Ok So I only put up a few pictures from the museum because I still wanted to show you pictures of other things. After we went to the museum of course we had to go…….SHOPPING! lol Remember in my Spring Break plans post I talked about how I’ve been dying to go to the Century 21 store. Well my sister and I went yesterday and I have to say that it was an OKAY experience. It was extremely crowded and they could have had more items to chose from. I ended up finding a couple of things. I LOVE shoes and Century 21’s show collection needs to be updated. I didn’t see ANY shoes that I was excited about AT ALL! Below is a picture of me standing in line for a fitting room!

I look exhausted lol...

Bought a NYC bag from Canal Street to put my shopping bags in!

After shopping my sister and I met up with her friend whose place we are staying at while we are here in NYC. I had been telling my sister that I wanted to go to Dallas BBQ’s while we were in town so we went. There were so many people in there. It’s one of the best places to eat at in NYC!

Baby Back Ribs, Baked Potato and Cornbread = YUM!

Dallas BBQ!

My sister and I in Times Square

Well I hope you enjoyed my post. I will be sure to take more pictures and share them with you all. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful Saturday!!

I have arrived…

Sweater:XX21/Cargo pants:Urban Outfitters/Bomber Jacket:Bebe/Boots:Charlotte Russe/Scarf:Love Culture/Purse:STEVEN/Necklace:mom bought it for me in Africa/Earrings:Gift/Bracelet:random

As you all know, I headed out to the Maryland/DC area today!! I had a great flight. Let me take that back lol My flight was kind of uncomfortable…I had the window seat and the lady who sat next to me decided that she was going to take up ALL the space. I couldn’t even rest my elbows on the armrest of the seat which meant that it was hard for me to even read my magazine! That is not even the worst of it. The lady decides that she is going to SNORE for the entire 2 hour flight! I was too excited when the pilot said we would be landing in 10 minutes because hearing that lady snore was awful. All in all I thank God for getting me to DC safely!

After my sister and I got settled in we changed clothes so that we could head out to my sister’s favorite DC restaurant called Nando’s Peri-Peri, which serves Portuguese food! The food was DELICIOUS! If I lived here I would eat there at least once a month! This restaurant had impeccable service. If you are ever in the DC/Maryland area I would definitely recommend that you eat at this restaurant!

Doesn't this look delicious? It tastes even better with the different sauces below!

Arts and Crafts Festival

Vest:Thrifted/Shirt:XX21/Jeans:Jolt Jeans/Belt:Came with another pair of pants/Sandals:Old Navy/Necklace: Miami Accessory store/Earrings:Gift from a friend/Bracelet:Random/Ring:Miami Accessory store/Sunnies:XX21/Purse:STEVEN

Today I got the chance to go to the Arts and Crafts Festival in Broward county! It was my first time ever going to something like this and I must say that I did enjoy myself. The weather was nice and breezy! It was a nice crowd of people but not a massive amount of people came out for the event. I think honestly the event could have been promoted a little better. Just like when the state fair comes around and the commercials are shown on television, the same procedures should have taken place when Broward decided to host an event like this!

This vendor sold beaded bracelets…I like them but don’t love them!

When I walked up to this art booth the vendor was sleeping…lol Should have taken a picture of it!

I liked this booth because the vendor had accessories that were reasonably priced and cute at the same time!

Now this is a HOT mess! What is this? No one was at this booth 😦

A close up of the necklace I bought at the accessory store yesterday!

A close up of the earrings I wore today!!

bought this today... Brand name is GELOKA!

I bought two other bracelets but the one above is my favorite!! It’s different for me and I can’t wait to rock it!

So Unique!

Yesterday I ended up buying 3 necklaces, 2 pairs of earrings, 4 headbands, 3 earrings, and 1 bracelet!! I did pretty good! I could have bought more but I had to consider that I am going out of town and that I may find other accessories to wear so I didn’t want to buy too much! Speaking of accessories…remember the post that I did last month where I talked about Do it yourself Accessory Frames? Well my dear friend actually made one and here is how her’s came out!

Kaneesha Spann's Necklace Frame!

So as you can see my Spring break has been going great so far! I’ve went to the accessory store, out to eat with the ladies, attended an arts and crafts festival and later on tonight I am going out on the town with some friends! All in all I’m having a BLAST! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for reading!
